GTOPO30 Topography On-Line Map Construction Tool

Welcome to the On-Line GTOPO30 Map Server. Here you can generate your own high-resolution topographic maps, based on the GTOPO30 global digital elevation model. Maps are generated as PNG images in Planar projection, starting from a 30-arc seconds (approximately 1 kilometer) global dataset covering the full extent of latitude from 90° degrees South to 90° degrees North, and a full extent of longitude from 180° degrees West to 180° degrees East. The horizontal grid spacing (30-arc seconds = 0.008333333333333°) of GTOPO30 allows to generate high-quality elevation maps at regional scale.

The original dataset is distributed by the U.S. Geological Survey's EROS Data Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Feel free to use these maps in research, publications, teaching and any other non-commercial context. Please read the On-Line Help before using the program.
